According to my humble opinion this cd (I recently found on internet) contains some real surprising rock and roll tunes. I mean the versions of some songs... it's just not you're everyday rock 'n' roll! (Maybe it was a real battle......) They better not put number 4 on the cd cause that song and performance is real crap. (poor Carol :-)) Until a few weeks ago I didn't even know this cd was available. I have it as an album with a complete different cover!, which you can view here.

One of the most influential and wildest figures in the history of Rock & Roll, Lewis, known universally as 'The Killer', rose to the fame in the 1950's.
A Young Jerry Lee Lewis
This album is his first ever chart debut in America. This has everything to do with the scandal that engulfed him and virtually led to the collapse of his career when he was at the very height of his success. (JL married his 13 year old second cousin) Released as a double album in early 1973, it was a string comeback that found lewis barnstorming through a set of rock & roll and r&b classics backed by the cream of early 70's British rock. Prominent among them were top guitar slingers Rory Gallaghar, Peter Frampton, Albert Lee and many others. These musicians were honoured and saw it as a chance to pay homage to a man they regarded as a living legend and who had helped inspire their own careers. So with their assistance the Session entered the Billboard chart at number 37 in March 1973.
Justice after all!!

SAYS MIKE ABOUT SHAKY:A Young Shaky

Track records had asked me to cut several sides with the young Shakin'Stevens in 1975. I ditched his Sunsets, and picked out some 'off the wall' rock 'n' roll songs. One of these was Never, an old Eddie Cochran number. This suited Shakey, who was even then creating wall to wall yawns with his famous phrase 'Its so old, its new'. On the instrumental section, I took the guitar solo from Presley's Fool Such As I, and had Pete Zorn play it on sax instead. I love this track, and I think Shakey did it full justice.

SAYS MIKE ABOUT SHAKY:

"Spooky" by classics 1V, was always one of my favourite records. When I recorded it with Shakin'Stevens in 1979, it was a real pleasure. I think he did a great job, and the arrangement by Colin Frechter was excellent. I wanted the overall fell to
