If you've enjoyed the other five CDs in this series from Shakin' Stevens, then you'll have gained a more in- depth insight into the varied styles he has recorded under, and you'll be prepared for this great mix of recordings from his years on the Epic label, which include hits and lesser know, but equally worthy tracks. This collection incorporates more of Stevens' self-penned songs, as well as originals and classics from such writers as the great Dan Penn, Gordon Campbell, Bob Heatlie, allen Toussaint (aka Naomi Neville) and Buddy Holly. From the steel guitar and honky-tonk piano-rich 'Is A Bluebird Blue' and the enduring 'I'll Give You My Heart', follows the atmospheric country bluesy ballad 'It's Raining'. Although spoilt for choice with such a large back catalogue. 'Because I Love You' deserves to be included, as this classic song continues to be a huge record internationally, as well as one that remains in people's memories. 'Teardrops', Stevens' self-penned work, with Hank Marvin playing lead guitar, is another "must have". The CD concludes with the tracks 'Tell Me One More Time', with its New Orleans laid-back feel, the sassy 'If I Can't Have You', and the closing original country song, 'If I Really knew'.
