Perhaps one of the most interesting periods of music was the late 50´s when the big names such as Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis smashed on to the scene with the Rock & Roll sound. Even today in the 1970´s Rock & Roll music is still being played by some of the American groups, but it has become apparent over the past two or three years that English groups have sprung up overnight with tremendous success.
One of these groups is Shakin´Stevens and the Sunsets. Donny Marchand, whilst producing an album entitled ´Battle of the Bands´ came across Paul ´Legs' Barrett, the manager of the group, who asked if he was interested in producing Shakin´Stevens and the Sunsets.
Donny and the boys went into the Studio and came out with this recording which shows the fantastic ´feel´ this Group has for the Rock and Roll sound. The Group plays to packed houses six nights a week and is followed by thousands of fans all over the country. If you dig Rock & Roll and have not yet been introduced to Shakin´Stevens and the Sunsets, then treat yourself by picking up this album and taking it home!! (But don´t forget to play)
